A picture I had taken of me today... just wanted to get something up to date online after seeing my slovenian friend online again. I would like to get some photos of me in the outfit I wear to work, with these new boots on, a proper photo shoot really, but it's hard to find willing and capable photographers... I'm sure I could do it in exchange for someone else having the same kinda thing done but anyway meh.

At Last, A New Phase
For the last, nearly 18 month I have been obsessed and tied to this woman from slovenia by the name of Sappho (online name).
No more. She never declared any kind of committment to me, and for good reason. She is a user. I hope she gets nice and tangled in a better user than her. And the odds are good, as it happens she's got tangled with a known good user, by the name of pkeffect.
She is now well and truly on the prowl and is dangling her hooks in front of every apparent male she can scope out.
I am so glad I finally got loose of her. I need a real woman not some dumb fuck slimebag who will never acknowledge our 'feeling' in real life beyond the internet.
Schverkraft is on the 17th, I am so looking forward to it.

Back to the topic
Anyway, I suppose my faithful readers want to hear something about physics. I'm afraid I am losted for something to say. I have these dreams that someone might pick up on something i say and ask me 'what the fuck are you on about' but these dreams are probably imaginary because i can't remember them.
Oh yes I have ideas. Does anyone think anything of them? So far, when people actually grasp what I am saying, 100% interest. Mostly I can't even get into a conversation about it. The main principles are on this blog. If you care, Skim. It's there.
I know that nobody cares yet. But I have faith in the eventual percolation of ideas through the noosphere. Eventually someone with a lot of bees in their bonnet will look at my idea and go, omgwtfbbq. I went through that too. I am now, ok anyone care? This is radical in some ways but I know from my study of the fields that it is just a new link that nobody else has put together. I don't know exactly where it all fits together but string theory and wave mechanics need to have a meeting. I don't exactly know why they have not yet, but maybe 'finite and unbounded' (thankyou Peter Carroll) might make them see a connection.
*shrug*
to hell with you all, dumbasses.
*goes off and continues his mad science*

The Anti-EULA
I would just like to throw my 2c into the blogosphere about this interesting project. The basic principle is that those stupid 'agree' things with interminably long license agreements are technically not legally binding and there is plenty of laws pertaining to copyright (and distribution rights) and ownership which trump any stupid EULA or whatever similar 'agreement'. These 'agreements' are legally invalid except in the sections relating to copyright, and in these areas the licenses can only open up one's freedom to copy, not close it. Copyright law in most countries permits making backups, quoting some 10% of the content and lending it to friends without any exchange of money for this. Many EULA assert that the product provided remains the property of the vendor but in actual fact the exchange of money for a product expressly makes the product the property of the owner.
I have bought a shirt from Mondo Tees which I am very much looking forward to wearing and having people sitting there reading it and asking me wtf it's all about so I can explain it to them. For me this is geek cool factor and hactivism rolled into one and I am proud to play my part in it.

Mental Illness - Still Stigmatised in most of the world
Something that has come to my awareness is that in some parts of the world it is still widely considered that mental illness is a taboo. Even in my country of Australia, the common attitude is still very harsh but it is now widely discussed in the media and common attitudes are changing.
We are at the cutting edge in the 'coalition' it seems. In fact, the USA and Australia are probably the most advanced culturally towards the issue of mental illness. This is not the case for most countries considered second or third world. Even the UK is lagging on mental illness, as is New Zealand.
When it comes down to it, I realise that due to the fact that I personally suffer from mental illness means that I am best helped in my native country. In so many other ways europe is ahead but this is where they are behind.
I hate to admit it but in actual fact the USA has the medical legislation that would best suit my disorder. The medication that works best for me is not prescribable in Australia.

Dissolute Improvement
Well, my friend from the east of europe let me in last night. I was saddened by what I saw but I am now glad to be free of the illusions and doubts. If you are reading, my sweet friend, I send my best wishes and love, may the future find your star again on the rise.

fscking nvidia tv out is lame
I'm pretty sure I observed this back in 2003, but nothing has changed.
For some reason the S-Video (or in the case of the older cards, composite video) outputs include a complementary letterboxing which cannot be turned off so far as I can gather from reading the documentation.
Which part of 'video out' did they not understand? Why is this problem still existent even in the latest version of the windows driver? Why am I seemingly one of a very small number of people observing this only recently? Perhaps I should have said something sooner but nVidia does not exactly invite consumer feedback. I noticed it a long time ago and kinda shrugged at it but I am sick of the fact that my mother's DVD player can't decode mpeg4 avi streams and I want to be able to play her some neat-o videos without having to waste polycarbonate laminated with aluminium and funny dyes discs in excess to do so. Nor do I appreciate the idiocy of the dvd format. mp4 is what everyone wants.
Whoever provides 3d acceleration, video decoding acceleration and TV output that actually matches what users want (standard and high def) will really blow the video card market out of the water. I wonder if anyone is ever going to do this, cos it seems to me that nvidia and ati couldn't give a flying shit.

everything you thought was
always going to be thought.
maybe you are nothing new.

I really don't know what to post here.
I have become absolutely converted to the religion called 'agnostic' and the philosophical position of 'fatalism'
I used to have a theorem for why destiny must be the way of the universe but I forgot it. Maybe I should make the effort to recall it. It was simple. Ah damn everything is like this isn't it. I knew why a moment ago.
Well, my posts about physics are still valid imho. but. in what way precisely.
FNORD. but I am more than happy to make my shit verifiable.
not that anyone is listening.

Exhaustion
This afternoon as I was about to leave I had a chat with my boss, I suppose I should regard him, about my doing extra hours over the last 2 weeks, which I had been starting to find draining anyway, he said it was a concern for him because it could blowout a budget he manages.
A recent change in the furnishings in the optical dispensary I work at, the replacement of carpet with a vinyl floor (the floor is concrete underneath that) has resulted in a persisting strain on the joints in my legs which has been interfering with my ability to utilise my new skateboard to improve my fitness and physique, I've been guzzling 3-5 coffees (instant) a day, drinking a bottle or two (two about 3x a week) to unwind and emotionally I think it is wearing me the hell out.
The last couple of days I have been near to the verge of tears from the smallest things and my frustrations with finding help for my mental health problems and the many associated factors - social avoidance, lack of confidence for finding further work, depression and despondency, and a creeping fear of imminent collapse of my emotional well-being and fear of the resulting
poverty I face due to the fact I have now been off welfare's casebooks apart from a 214 dollar debt from overpayment due to inaccurate reporting of my payment...
To put it simply, I feel completely overrun, worn out, and afraid of what will happen if I don't find a way out of this situation, of either nasty repercussions or a reversion to relative poverty. I am afraid of having to face any more stress from any direction, and dealing with mental health morons and welfare morons is probably more than I can take but I can't do anything about it.
I have got something of a solution worked out, a critical element, but it is not come quite to fruition and I'm getting all wriggly and afraid that I am going to fuck it up with my usual impulsivity and impatience, ironically the very thing I am attempting this process again to take a major step towards eliminating.
I think that going back to the four hour days will help a lot, 6 hours really is too much for me without a reduction of social pressure and a reduction of uncertainty of making a major error and having to deal with the angst of whoever above me who is responsible.
I need to find a better job too. Something involving data entry in a small business with a minimum of discretion required on my part would help a lot. Without a clear role or an ambient performance pressure I am sometimes forced to make judgement calls and they don't always come off right.
Whine.

perceptual distortion
As an appendix to the previous post. It seems to be the collaboration of the mass consciousness (majority opinion) combined with the equilibriating tendency of human perception that causes the main problems of human society.
Which brings me back to my old conclusion about humans:
R.I.P. Humanity.
You are irrelevant in this post-terrestrial universe.

The Flaw in the System
This is as old as the hills, but it needs to be re-iterated.
Most common ways to die:
This occurs in more than a few fields in the mass media.
The problem is that the media only reports the most uncommon, unusual and spectacular events.
The reality of life is these things are far outside of common experience (by definition) yet people are under the impression that this is the real world out there.
Thinking people pointed this out back in the 60s, there was a movement called 'Situationism' which pointed it out but they didn't have statistical basis for their intuitive assertion that the mass media model of media distribution inverted human values. Now we do.
If you doubt this, or want to add evidence to this argument, go enquire at your local births deaths and marriages office what proportions of causes of death reported are.
I am going to do this soon, it just got on my list.
Problem is the mass media, by definition, cannot reflect the world as it is, they must select their stories according to their ability to attract attention and by definition this is the least frequent occurrances. People would not read a newspaper if it simply had a list of names of people who died grouped by the causes, people who were born, according to location...
The problem is that a centralised, audience-payment-driven news media system focusses on events which are uncommon. This inverts public perception of ordinary life.
It is an obvious next step to critique representational goverment by the fact this also favours the most exceptional and emotion-charged issues being the determining factors in political debate.
One of the things that a lot of internet-advocates forget is that the internet does not essentially change this populist news distortion. It does however change the demographic because early adopters of internet technology are naturally more greatly represented. When this steadies we will be back to the same old position of tyranny of the majority, terror of the minority.
But on the other hand, the issues of the small now have a way to percolate up to the top. Only a few people captured video of Saddam's last hours. But these are now the top-selling stories on the news media. How long until these unusually cruel and obscure events become the new populist news items? I've seen this coming for a long time now and I've blogged on it, it can be summed up in the umbrella of 'Rodney King' news.
Does this balance the media, and thereby public perception?
I think the only thing that will really bring balance to the system is information overflow. More media outlets, more amateur reporters, eventually the major distributed systems rapidly lose touch with local concerns and local concerns get to local people more rapidly.
The more the minor avenues of news influence the people the less the major avenues influence them. Eventually it returns to the old ways of gossip, in effect.
Power to manipulate society decentralises.

- Dying in your sleep of old age.
- Falling over in your own home or on your own property.

Death of a Dictator or Death of Yet Another Human
Fair enough the revenge murder sanctioning states of the USA and the various other countries (like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and all those other places in South East Asia and Africa) should think well of yet another execution. But I'm sorry, I don't think that the death penalty is supported by the Australian people, nor is it supported by all US states nor is it supported by most of Europe.
But what has this, this Australian nation's so-called 'leader' say about it? I don't think he even said a word against the death penalty. What is wrong with locking him up for the rest of his life and giving him no human contact nor any tool to render himself dead. Which is more fitting, which is more cruel? One death makes millions all in balance does it?
Wouldn't it be more fitting to punish him with the right to spend as long as medical science can reasonably manage to keep him alive to think about what he did? If you think abolishing the death penalty is just about not killing possibly innocent people maybe you haven't thought about what it is like to be alone for a very long time knowing you are apart from society and only provided the minimum to be alive because you have committed atrocities. If you kill him he squirms for a while and then he is free.
If they were really interested in making him suffer, bare minimum nutrition, an uncomfortable bed and nothing to read, listen to and nobody to talk to for 30+ years. Plus to top it off he gets to have no privacy. If people want to they can look at him and he can't stop them. Even when he's taking a shit. Even better, he gets to spend an hour a week where people are allowed to come in and urinate and spit on him. Eventually the novelty will wear off but people really need to stop thinking that murder is the way to respond to the acts of evil of other humans.
For that matter, animals too, how many sting rays copped it because of the accidental death of Steve Irwin.
Revenge is not justice. Revenge is revenge.

prejudice
I am not sure how it managed to not be noticed but from the outset my banning from gothic.org.au brisbane forum was BEFORE I messaged the administrator who gave me the 'warning' (which coincided or preceded the post ban) whose name is 'umbra' an abusive message. Sadly, or perhaps, just frustrating to my love of justice, it is unlkely that I or anyone else can produce a proof that I abused after being banned from posting.
I feel sorry for antigone who was just being a reasonable admin warning me not to post multiply. The forum sadly lacks any way to forcibly notify a user of a message that DEMANDS their attention and even if it did I was not notified nor given the choice to respond to a last warning before the ban applied.
This was my experience:
*yawn*

- first warning post from antigone

- suddenly i was banned from posting
- message from admin warning that i had to justify why i was banned
- from this point i might as well conclude it was all prejudice

second life is ghey
i just want to say that second life's interface is ghey. i am used to playing half life 2. i am used to mouse-look. i am not used to the arrow keys being used for direction. the flying interface is dumb. i am not interested in playing any game which does not have flexible controls nor has sensible controls.

Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis
I have read many times before references to the doctrine of 'thesis, antithesis, synthesis' used by manipulators of public sentiment, I can't remember where it all traces back but the logic of using sensational fear-inducing staged events to stimulate movement in the desired direction always seemed reasonable. I'd never actually seen a certifiably document evidence before.
"Since it would seem desirable to use legitimate provocation as the basis for US military intervention in Cuba a cover and deception plan, to include requisite ..."
This is a little snip from page 10. I can't be bothered trying to digitise any further of it since one can just click the link of the title to see the page, the document goes on and on in this sort of vein in very formal language basically outlining the 'need' to find or create a political justification for an attack on cuba. This document relates to the time around 1962 but this was going on then and nothing has changed and the same philosophy still is in operation, which follows this basic pattern:
While I was in the mood to watch some more videos I decided to watch the collapse videos of the main towers and when the first one came down there was a distinct pattern resembling what would occur if the firing sequence of the explosives was triggered top down starting not far below the impact site, the building just seeming to lose integrity just below the impact site.
Normally demolition explosions are done bottom up and the explosion pattern is designed to create a vacuum at the base which pulls the whole building down neatly in a tiny footprint. It would be much messier to do it the other way around but then doing that would make it look more 'natural' because spontaneous building collapses do not look like demolitions.
However, there is some big problems with engineering a 'natural' collapse. If it were purely natural the top section of the building would have collapsed sideways like a seed column on a piece of grass being burned in the centre, it would have fallen down sideways.
But the collapse was not natural, it was to reinforce the 'spectacular' nature of the event, theatrical rather than actual.
The demolition of wtc7 doesn't make any sense though, it would seem likely their planning of the spectacle was supposed to include something falling down on it and triggering the demolition would have been spectacular synchronised with some other building falling on it, like it was just 'crushed'.
It all bears the hallmarks of a compromised planning process which there was a struggle between the theatrical and practical constraints of executing this spectacular display and the engineers did it slightly safer than would have been required to make it look natural.
The uniformity of the descending dust cloud as the first tower collapsed does not look like the 'structural instability' asserted to be the true cause of the collapse.
First of all the heat is above the flames, anyone trained in junior science knows the heat of flames is at the top, just above the tip of the flame front where you see the carbon monoxide burning (it's pale blue), which means the collapse, if it was natural, should start above the impact site, since flames move upwards and the greatest heat would be above the impact site.
Secondly, buildings of that scale are designed over-engineered, there is no way that it would have been allowed to be built if its structural integrity was so poor that the coldest part of the flames could initiate a pancake flattening like what happened. Most other large tall buildings before 9/11 that have caught fire have not collapsed like this even when 50% of the structure has collapsed and it looks like a rotting skeleton.
The videos speak for themselves if you ask me. It is no problem at all for government 'experts' to fabricate stories to explain the clearly anomalous events, and being experts the media trumpets their stories as the truth. In this case the town planning and engineers of the buildings were blamed for making a faulty building which had stood for somewhere near 30 years already just fine and not collapsed. A building so flimsy it can collapse from a fire in such a clearly photogenic way could not have stood for that long.
The public is gradually shifting to the view that 9/11 was staged by the american government to justify a second invasion of iraq. When I was watching it as it occurred that was my instant thoughts about it: 'this is an inside job done by americans and organised by the american government to create a public sentiment to support anti-arab military action'.
The fact that the purported leader of the fictional organisation 'al quada' is the son of a family that has a history of being very close to the Bush family adds more fuel to this 'inside job' hypothesis. It'd be rather convenient to have an enemy you can place in any military target you want to attack as being responsible for a staged spectacular event, and other events reinforcing the link so that people instantly switch off their critical faculties when the magic words 'al queda' and 'bin laden' and 'terrorist' and 'suicide bomber' are slung around and go into this hypnotic trance that makes them support the military stance.
And it is a little known fact that the current american flag is actually the war-time flag, and has been in place only during times of mobilisation for war. The USA has been on wartime mobilisation since the 1920s. Apart from Japan and Germany and world war 2, none of the military action seen done by the USA or its allies has actually been in the interests of any kind of security and merely a progression towards the building of a massive global military empire and chronic state of war.
To round off my little sermon, I would like to sum up relating back to the title - the purpose of all this warmongering is to keep the world's population in debt. Wars are fostered by the influx of funds into economies used to pay for the extortionate costs of military action. There is no better way to impose debt and force repayment than to loan the money to a government who can always raise taxes (and their co-conspirators, the reserve banks to raise interest rates to squeeze people if they don't kow-tow to the war-mongering, and other top level industries like the energy industry can be major players too, as happened in the 70s with the oil shock) to cover the debt.
The real goal is to promote war, because war makes people weak to resist manipulation by playing on their fear. When people are in fear, they pay up to those who claim they will protect them. The real evil ones in this world are the ones who benefit from loaning out 'money' to nations to war against other nations or groups. This is what it all comes down to and these people are psychopaths, metaphorical vampires on human souls, doling out debt so they can increase their little piles of gold while everyone else suffers.
- Define a desired military goal which is at odds with the interests of the people.
- Stage a public spectacle which blame for it is claimed to originate from the desired group against which the military goal is to be executed.
- Feed the media disinformation mercilessly until people are used to the idea that it was not staged and that the alleged perpetrators should be hunted down and killed, no matter how many citizens must perish in the process, nor how many people who question the official story are slandered and dismissed as 'crackpots' and 'conspiracy theorists'.
Cloned Animals as Food?
I just want to put my 2c into this debate - I personally have no problem with the eating of cloned meat. What I am concerned about are the well known facts of cloned plant production:
I think there could be a lot said for using clones to produce consistent hybrid stock however. This is how things are done in the high-end plant breeding business, I don't see why the logistics of it should be all that different whether the organism is vegetable or animal.
- clones cost a lot more to make than sexually reproduced individuals
- clones can be struck down with a disease and a whole crop can be lost
- undetected genetically prescribed defects in the product can turn out to be toxic to a nontrivial amount of the population of consumers

reflections
What a bumpy ride i am on at the moment. I was reading something somewhere about how one can destroy one's chances with employment and such things by blogging. I wondered what I should think about this. Frankly I am my own worst smear campaign even before I open my mouth, they seem to smell it coming around the corner even.
So I don't care. I've never had any luck before so I don't see how blogging is gonna ruin me.
I was just at this website advertised at boingboing, the robinhood foundation, which does this thing of letting people post wishes and amounts of money to implement them, which is all nice and dandy, but after i poured my heart out into the input fields it says 'pay us $5'. which would have been fine if I had five dollars. I felt a bit gypped cos it should say upfront that you have to pay. I entitled my application 'research funding to develop gravity manipulators'. *shrug*
This time off work has only been a disruption for me. I really don't want this break. Sadly there's nothing for it. Working as a casual sucks when you can't choose to go into work, no money, no paid leave whatsoever.
Oh, it seems that the robinhood thing did register what I posted. Apparently I have to put a video with my wish for people to pay attention. I don't have a video camera. Not even a webcam. Not likely to garner much attention. Well, who knows. Maybe 'a research laboratory to develop gravity manipulators' will grab enough attention that I actually get money. I linked to this blog too. Probably my ranting and whining will put everyone off.
